గాయత్రి మంత్రము
”ఓం భూర్బువస్సువః – తత్సవితుర్వ రేణ్యం
భర్గోదేవస్య ధీమహి – ధీయో యోనః ప్రచోదయాత్!”
గాయత్రికి మూడు పేర్లు. అవి గాయత్రి,
సావిత్రి, సరస్వతి. ఇంద్రియములకు నాయకత్వం వహించునది గాయత్రి, సత్యమును
పోషించునది సావిత్రి, వాగ్ధేవతా స్వరూపిణి సరస్వతి. అనగా హృదయము, వాక్కు,
క్రియ… ఈ త్రికరణ శుద్ధి గావింఛునదే గాయత్రి మంత్రము. సకల వేదముల సారము ఈ
గాయత్రి మంత్రము. ఈమెకు తొమ్మిది వర్ణనలున్నాయి. 1) ఓం 2) భూః 3) భువః 4) సువః 5) తత్ 6) సవితుర్ 7) వరేణ్యం 8) భర్గో 9) దేవస్య
ప్రతిపదార్ధం :
ఓం : ప్రణవనాదంభూః : భూలోకం, పదార్ధముల చేరిక, దేహము, హృదయం, మెటీరియలైజేషన్
భూవః : రువర్లోకం, ప్రాణశక్తి, వైబ్రేషన్
సువః : స్వర్గలోకం, ప్రజ్ఞానము, రేడియేషన్ ఈ మూడు లోకములు మన శరీరములోనే వున్నవి.
తత్ : ఆ
సవితుర్ : సమస్త జగత్తును
వరేణ్యం : వరింపదగిన
భర్గో : అజ్ఞానాంధకారమును తొలగించునట్టి
దేవస్య : స్వయం ప్రకాశ స్వరపమైన బ్రహ్మను
ధీమహి : ధ్యానించుచున్నాను
ధీయోయోనః ప్రచోదయాత్ : ప్రార్ధించుచున్నాను
కనుక వర్ణన, ధ్యానము, ప్రార్ధన – ఈ మూడు ఒక్క గాయత్రీ మంత్రములోనే లీనమై ఉన్నవి.
